Lawn Overseeding
Lawn overseeding is a lawn care practice that involves spreading grass seed over an existing lawn to improve its density, fill in bare patches, and rejuvenate its overall health and appearance. A dense, healthy lawn also helps defend against weeds & moss. As such, new seed should be introduced to your lawn regularly to replace the ageing plants.
Overseeding is best carried out during Spring or Autumn when the weather conditions are most favourable, and ideally in conjunction with other lawn care practices, such as scarification, aeration or top dressing.
It's a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way to improve the appearance and vitality of your lawn without the need for extensive renovation or replacement.
Benefits of Overseeding:
-
Replaces old, dying grass with new, healthy plants, resulting in a thicker, lusher lawn.
-
Keeping your grass thick, resists weeds and moss, thereby reducing the need for chemical weed control methods.
-
Fills bare patches and improves your lawn’s overall appearance, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of your outdoor space.
-
Allows you to introduce new grass varieties that are better suited to the conditions, such as shade tolerance or drought resistance.
